It is built with silicon carbide grain, resin over resin, close coated on durable, and heavy-duty YY-weight waterproof polyester backing. WEEM 1128 SIC YY-CLOTH ABRASIVE offers an economical way to make segmented belts for the panel industry. Everything that required for the panel sanding such as even grain surface, antistatic treatment avoid clogging, stiffness, and highly tear-resistant backing for high-pressure sanding, all in place to ensure the product performance.

Silicon carbide is a very hard and crystal structure that produces fine straight-edged grind lines. It is superior for its ability to penetrate with light cutting pressures. Silicon carbide grain is primarily used for grinding nonferrous materials such as wood, brass, copper, bronze, and, glass, rubber, and plastics. It is also used to finish polyurethanes, primers, lacquers, and sealers.

A closed coat product has a higher number of abrasives cutting points per square inch and results in a higher stock removal rate and a long time before the abrasive wears out. Normally results in a better finish.
